Post a Picture of Your Favorite Tiara:

I hate having to choose one of anything, so I chose three.

1. The Amethyst Necklace Tiara

I also love Crown Princess Mette Marit-How gorgeous is she?!

This tiara is simple, yet stunning. I just think it looks so regal without being over the top. The amethysts have just enough size and sparkle to make the tiara fit for a princess.

2. The Cut Steel Tiara:

LOVE this one. It has such a presence even though it doesn’t have a single jewel. I love the history of it, how it was rediscovered, and how gorgeous it looks perched on top of Crown Princess Victoria’s perfect head.

ugh, just lovely.

3. The Fife Diamond Tiara:

Okay, seriously…how could you not love this?! The Fife is perhaps my all time favorite. I mean, it’s ridiculous. It’s extravagantly opulent and unabashedly grand. It sparkles like no other and it’s completely over the top. What’s not to love?

Who is your favourite historical royal and why?

For me, it’s a tie between Queen Elizabeth I and Marie Antoinette. They’re obviously completely different but I just really find them both fascinating.

Queen Elizabeth I was just incredible. In my last entry, I spoke about the current Queen Elizabeth (II) and how insane it must have been to be a woman rising to power in such a man’s world. What HM experienced was pretty much nothing in comparison to her predecessor. QEI was incredibly strong, powerful and filled with the kind of courage that has kept her name alive for all of these years. I admire her dedication to her role and to her country. She was completely selfless and quite noble, and I just love her.

Marie Antoinette is fascinating for several reasons. She has this enigmatic aura about her that draws you in and makes you want to learn more. Her lively spirit and jovial attitude made her incredibly popular, that is, until France turned against her. Her whole story is very intriguing while also being quite sad. She came to France as such a young girl from a foreign land and ended up losing her family and her life when the tides turned against her. I don’t know that I necessarily love her for who she was, but I do love her story.

Who is your favorite current royal and why?

HM, Queen Elizabeth II, hands down. Why? She’s the original badass.

I mean, she’s been the Queen for 60 years, she’s seen everything from the terrors of WWII to the first black president of the United States. When she was crowned Queen, she probably never imagined that one day she would be living in a world that included computers, the internet, smartphones or space travel. She ascended the throne in a time when women were seen as nothing more than pretty decorations that happened to produce babies, but there she was, becoming the head of state to The United Kingdom and the commonwealth nations. We know nearly nothing about her and she’s never given an interview. She is at once intriguing and foreboding. She is unflappable, elegant, and timeless. She has stood as the face of many nations for as long as most people can remember.

Basically, she’s the most incredible woman I can think of, in nearly every way. Her stoicism, strength, and utter dedication to her role is impressive in a way that we just can’t fully understand. The joy and sense of stability that she brings not only to her own country, but to the world at large is unmatched. I truly do not think that there will ever be another woman like HM. She can never be replaced and will leave a legacy that will last for centuries after she has gone.

Why Do You Follow Royals? What is it About Them That You Like?

I have been following royalty for nearly my entire life. When I was a very young girl, I became infatuated with Princess Diana-I wanted to look like her, dress like her, sound like her and just be her (I was 6). Because of my intense obsession interest in her, I naturally began to learn more about the British royal family. The fact that real life prices and princesses existed outside of my books amazed and fascinated me. As I grew older, I pored through countless books at the library about other royal families from the past to the present.

I don’t really know what it is that makes royalty so incredibly interesting. Maybe it’s the fact that there are people out there, just like you and I, living in castles and wearing crowns and tiaras. It just doesn’t seem real. It could also be the fact that many monarchies have withstood such an impossible test of time. The British monarchy is nearly 1000 years old-there aren’t many systems that can last that long. The people that comprise the royal families around the world are so diverse and create so many different legacies. They are tragic and heroic characters that draw you in to follow their stories.

Why I love royalty isn’t a simply answered question, but what I do know is that I will probably follow it for the rest of my life. I just can’t quit it.

“I wish I could quit you” <——-Name that movie. (sorry)
